When a View's drawing cache is enabled, drawing is redirected to an offscreen bitmap.

If this view doesn't do any drawing on its own, set this flag to allow further optimizations.


      setX(float x)

Sets the visual x position of this view, in pixels.


      setY(float y)

Sets the visual y position of this view, in pixels.


      setZ(float z)

Sets the visual z position of this view, in pixels.


      showContextMenu()

Shows the context menu for this view.


      showContextMenu(float x, float y)

Shows the context menu for this view anchored to the specified view-relative coordinate.


      startActionMode(ActionMode.Callback callback, int type)

Start an action mode with the given type.


      startActionMode(ActionMode.Callback callback)

Start an action mode with the default type TYPE_PRIMARY.


      startAnimation(Animation animation)

Start the specified animation now.


      startDrag(ClipData data, View.DragShadowBuilder shadowBuilder, Object myLocalState, int flags)

This method was deprecated in API level 24. Use startDragAndDrop() for newer platform versions.

Begin a nestable scroll operation along the given axes.

      unscheduleDrawable(Drawable who, Runnable what)

Cancels a scheduled action on a drawable.


      unscheduleDrawable(Drawable who)

Unschedule any events associated with the given Drawable.


      updateDragShadow(View.DragShadowBuilder shadowBuilder)

Updates the drag shadow for the ongoing drag and drop operation.


      verifyDrawable(Drawable who)

If your view subclass is displaying its own Drawable objects, it should override this function and return true for any Drawable it is displaying.


      willNotCacheDrawing()

Returns whether or not this View can cache its drawing or not.


      willNotDraw()

Returns whether or not this View draws on its own.
